Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS)

Behind every immigrant child, there is a story that should never have existed: abandonment, abuse, neglect, fear… and far too often, loneliness.

The Special Immigrant Juvenile Visa (SIJS) is a real opportunity for protection for children and youth who have suffered abandonment or abuse by one or both parents and who cannot safely return to their country of origin. This process allows them to obtain legal status, stability, and the chance to build a future filled with hope.

A life-saving process — but one that needs support

For a minor to obtain SIJS, they must go through complex legal proceedings in state court and before immigration authorities. This involves legal fees, filings, translations, and ongoing guidance. Most of these children have no one who can afford to pay for them. Without help, their future remains on hold… or at risk.
